THE HOLY SPIRIT IS “MOTHER-GOD” 7-11-10 Anyone who always prays, “Our dear heavenly Father,” is praying to an incomplete God because God is not just a father. God is also mother and Son.
The mother side of God is the Holy Spirit. All through the Bible, Old Testament Hebrew and New Tetament Greek, the word “Spirit” is always in the feminine gender.
I owe Mary Baker Eddy and Christian Science for giving me this knowledge. It immediately sweetened my spiritual life and practice. The first time I saw “Father Mother God in one of their publications it made me feel better about God. Who wants only one parent when they can have a whole family.
I know the doctrine of the Trinity only passed in one of the early church councils by one vote, but i find it helpful in experiencing God: Father, Mother, Son.
When I am trying to create a song, column or book I pray to the Holy Spirit. The mother nature (Holy Spirit) is the creative birthing power of God.
Everybody is in the business of creating something so pray with the Holy Spirit about your projects (creations) and you will experience this power in God’s feminine nature for yourself.
You may say, “Oh I am just a housewife. I don’t create things.” No, my friend. You are the most important creator of all. You not only create little children, you create a home. Nothing is more important than creating a home and a nurturing atmosphere in that home. More than anything, it will determine how well your children do in life.
One sentence that should be stricken from our conversation is ‘I am just a housewife.” Here’s the most important person in our society disparaging her role.A housewife is a homemaker and making a home is by far the most important activity in our society. The home can be an incubation unit for a saint or a sinner, an Einstein or a Bundy.
I repeat: everybody creates something tangible or intangible. In his retirement years, my father created hundreds of pieces of beautiful woodwork with the help of the holy Spirit working through his mind and hands.
Once or twice a week my sister will call me and say, “Do you wan to hear the latest thing the Holy Spirit gave me,” and she will then read me her latest poem. One day I took the phone off the hook and laid back in an easy chair and listened to one of her CDs and the power of the Holy Spirit came thru her poems, making me laugh an cry. Any work bestowed on us by the Holy Spirit will be powerful like that.
I know I may be oversimplifying spiritual work but I pray to the birthing power of the Holy Spirit when I wnt to create and to Jesus for peace, fellowship and healing. Al Harvey sad, “The thng I love about Jesus is He put a kind human face on God.”
A big part of my spiritual practice is thinking of new and bettter ways to perceive God because I have discovered so many spiritual jewels that way. As we perceive God, we learn to use God more intelligently and effectively in our lives. |
