A WAY TO MAKE DECISIONS
6-1-08

Every day of our life we make decisions whether we are conscious of it or not. Some days we are called upon to make big decisions and often the enormity of those decisions overwhelms us and shuts down out thinking and intuitive powers. It’s for those times that I offer you a way that has worked for me.

First, write down the specific decision you need to make. You may want to write it two or three different ways like, “Do I need a divorce? Do I want to live alone? Am I ready to give up on this relationship.” But no matter how many ways you write it down, always shake it down to one simple sentence because both our conscious and subconscious minds deal much better with concise questions.

Now write down every option you have. Don’t sit and think about each one as you write it. Just get a free-flowing writing stream going and write them all out as quickly as they flow.

Then sit quietly with each option. Don’t rush. Tune into what you are feeling as you sit with each option. Note your feelings. Write short descriptions of the feelings that come to you … “scary” … “feels good” … “feel insecure” … “confident” … whatever.

Under each option ask, “Where is this likely to lead?” It is a good consequence you are seeking and your good mind and intuition can suggest and describe the consequences beforehand if you will listen.

Become adept at feeling energies. Every person, place and situation has it’s own energy. If you develop your god-given antenna you can feel them.

I’ve previously written about the dramatic effect it had on my life to see everything as energy. As Einstein demonstrated, all things ARE energy. So why not recognize them for what they are and start reading and intuiting them.

I have worked with many people who wanted to use their power of energy discernment and I am now convinced that anyone can do it by simply using their awareness. Simply become aware of who you are with, where you are, what is going on and you will begin to feel energy flows, good and bad, negative and positive and even neutral.

The important thing in looking at your options as you consider a decision is to read the energy in your feelings. Which choice makes you feel lighter? Which choice makes you smile? Which choice feels more like a life ministry to you?

Sometimes other people make choices that impact us powerfully. Of times we are surprised and are literally knocked down. It was not our choice but we do have a choice about the way we will respond. In those situations where we are floored, we need two things: a friend we trust, and tuning into the Peace at the core of our being.

Tuning into that Peace can take some time when we are swept up in an emotional tornado. At such times it is good to go through all these steps I have described. We may need to stop and start a few times because energy reading is not easy when severe pain is present. Ride out the pain, list your options, and sit with each one until clarity begins to form.

Writing this has brought to mind many of the key decisions I have had to make in life and some of the swamps of pain I have had to wade through. I can plainly see that I made better decisions after I developed this system.

After I spoke on this one time someone asked, “Where does the Lord figure in? You didn’t mention the Lord.”

I replied, “Yes, I did. The Lord is that core of Peace and that Presence at the center of our being, the very Energy we are using to make our decisions.”

Never forget that you possess the Power.
