GO DOWN TO YOUR ROOTS
In
a Science of Mind article I clipped in 1988, Ernest Holmes asks,
"You didn't create yourself, did you? Your personality has its
roots in a divinity within you."
Do we ever stop to realize the significance of this truth? How could we
ever suffer from low self-esteem if we realized That which created us?
Just as we are told that God breathed into original man and he became a
living soul, so were we God-breathed into existence. We are God breaths.
So you are different than others. Since you were made different, why not
enjoy your uniqueness? Our Creator is not a cookie cutter. This
wonderful Spirit that creates and sustains all thing is more like a
flower gardener than a cookie cutter. It grows all kinds of human
flowers. Walk through the garden and let yourself be amazed.
You never need to impress people. Specialize in friendships and that
will mean more to people than any flashy act you might perform. There is
no better way to forge a great personality than living your life in the
laboratory of friendship.
Who means the most to you in your life – people of great achievement
or lovable friends and people who literally ooze with the honey of love,
joy and friendship?
Holmes says, "Build up a great idea of yourself...knowing God os
your partner and friend. Think, feel and live this."
He is right. What we think, feel and live, we become.
